Support
Estella is a reader for public-domain books. Browse the library here on the web, or read on iPhone and iPad with the Estella app, which also lets you import EPUB and PDF files of your own.
Get in touch
For questions, bug reports, or to tell us about a problem with a book in the library, email contact@under33.eu. We read everything that comes in and aim to reply within a few days.
A bug is easiest to fix when you mention your device, your iOS version, and which book you were reading.
Common questions
How do I add my own books to the app?
Open My Books and tap + in the top right to pick an EPUB or PDF from Files or iCloud Drive. You can also share a file to Estella from another app. Imported books stay on your device and are never uploaded.
Does Estella remember my place?
Yes. Your position is saved per book on the device you were reading on. Because there are no accounts, position does not sync between devices.
Can I change the text size or read in the dark?
While reading, tap the Aa button in the top bar. It opens reading settings, where you can set the font size and turn the dark theme on or off.
Why is a book missing or broken?
The library is curated by hand and grows over time. If a book fails to open or is formatted badly, tell us the title and we will look at the source file.
Are the books really free?
Every book in the Estella library is in the public domain. The app is free and contains no advertising or purchases.
